1965 Deluxe Microbus - Twenty-One Windows and One Sunroof

| From the factory, our 1965 bus would have looked like the bus in the picture below on the right. The exterior a very popular color combination of Blue-White over (Baltic) Sea Blue. Some of the features shown in this French sales brochure are front bench seat (non-walkthru), full middle seat and no bumper over-riders. The other feature I didn't like about my bus was that it only came with two opening side windows. In the pictures below, you can see that the busses only have one opening window per side. The opening windows would be left and right of the back seat.
The bus was delivered to Central America and somehow found its way up to San Antonio, Texas. This is where my family purchased the bus in 1981. Over the years the bus would take on many colors...and stripes!

The text above says that the De Luxe model has seating for eight, sunroof, chrome treatments (interior and exterior), exterior beltline and bumper trim. Take a look at the bus on the left, it is almost as if someone touched-up the front air inlet (above the front windows). More of the brochure is available on The Samba.
